Welcome to CRG Life's Lessons
I would like to welcome you to my new blog and podcast web page called Life's Lessons. My name is Chuck Greer. I am 72 years old and have had what many people tell me was an interesting life. My friends and family have always enjoyed my stories about the things I have experienced, lessons learned, philosophical quips. My goal, through blogs and podcasts, is to share these stories and life's lessons in a format that my family, friends and anyone else who is interested can read, listen, learn and comment. I hope you will find my blogs and podcasts informative, educational and perhaps helpful as you live through your life experiences. I'm am not a professional counselor or therapist, just someone sharing his life experiences, both good and bad.
Let me tell you a little about myself:
I am a Navy brat, born at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Grew up through High School in Virginia Beach, VA.
As a kid I always wanted to be a Radio DJ and Musician, both of which I did as a adult.
After my Dad retired from the Navy when I was 8 because of my Mom's health issues, I worked with my Dad doing appliance and ACHV repairs until I left for college.
I joined the school band in 8th grade and was Drum Major for 4 years. I started playing in cover bands at the age of 16 and continue today.
Worked as DJ and Production Engineer at WUVT and WNOR.
Graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering, but never pursued a career in that field.
Joined the oilfield out of college as an offshore field engineer overseas for Schlumberger in 1975 and retired from Chevron in 2018. I still work in oilfield and as Consultant and Advisor.
Moved over 20 times for work all across the US and internationally for work and have owned 15 houses.
Divorced from first wife after 17 years and remarried 6 years later to a person I met on love@aol.
Been a 24-hr Caregiver for my wife for years because I love her. She will always be at home as long as I can take care of her.
I have 3 grown daughters (2 with my first wife and 1 stepdaughter) and 4 grandkids (plus 5 step-grandkids).
Been riding motorcycles since I was 19, mostly Harleys.
Teaching and mentoring people is a passion.
Loved fishing since I was a young boy thanks to my mom who worked at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier for 35 years.
Traveling and meeting new people is one of my favorite things.
